Born in Kansas, and then moving to Missouri, Washington, D.C., Upstate New York, and Portland, Oregon, Carrie completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas (Go Jayhawks!) and attended law school at the University of Cincinnati. After practicing law in Cincinnati, Ohio, Carrie went on to practice law and teach at Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island, for one year. She then landed firmly in Indianapolis in 2009, where she is now a Clinical Professor of Law at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Since then, she has lived in Meridian-Kessler with her three children and their cat, Vinny.

In her first home on Central Avenue in Indianapolis, Carrie had the good fortune of becoming neighbors with Maywright’s co-owner, Jess Martin. After many years of friendship, Carrie bought her second house through Jess in 2019. Jess has since offered to be her mentor, helping her take the necessary steps to become a real estate professional. Having taught Property Law for several years at IU to incoming first-year law students, while also practicing in the areas of family law, expungement, and other civil litigation, Carrie brings 20 years of legal experience and 15 years of higher education experience to her career as a Realtor—truly the best of both worlds, and lots of fun vocabulary!

In her spare time, Carrie loves to cook, bike, watch films, and connect with neighbors and friends. Just as she has done in her law classes, Carrie excels at making complicated subject matter accessible to those who need it most. She loves advocating for her clients and helping them find their ideal location, whether as buyers or sellers. With her roots now firmly planted in Indianapolis, she also enjoys sharing her love of the city—especially its food and music scene. With so much to see and do, and so many great neighborhoods to choose from, Carrie is ready to help you discover it all!
