Fishers and Westfield are both flourishing suburban communities north of Indianapolis that offer their residents a robust system of trails and parks, easy access to a variety of dining and shopping options, and thriving schools.
The Nickel Plate District Amphitheater in the heart of downtown Fishers is one of the Midwest's premier outdoor music and event venues and is also a community hub, hosting everything from the Fishers Farmers’ Market to live music multiple evenings a week during warmer weather. The NPDA is also host to a large roster of yearly events, including Blues Fest, Fishers Spark festival, Boo Bash and Fishers Winter Wonderland. When it snows, the sledding hill at Flat Fork Park is the place to be, while in the summer, a scoop from Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is a delicious way to beat the heat. Conner Prairie, a living history museum, is a draw for all ages and offers something for everyone, including tethered balloon rides, historic Hearthside Suppers, Corn to Cocktail: Where History Meets Mixology and Symphony on the Prairie. Sports fans are thrilled that Fishers is the future home of both Andretti Autosports and the Indy Fuel hockey team.
Grand Park Sports campus in Westfield is a 400-acre, multi-sport complex that draws 2.5 million visitors yearly and also is the official home of the Indianapolis Colts Training Camp. History buffs will appreciate that the sentiments of Westfield’s Quaker heritage led to it being a key stop on the Underground Railroad, and several houses and buildings with secret hiding spaces are still standing.
Westfield has quite a few stand-out pizza and burger joints, and the BBQ at Big Hoffa’s Smokehouse is not to be missed. The quaint, casual setting of Rail, along with their rotating farm-to-table fare always offers something quick and delicious to eat, while the intimate setting of The Italian House on Park along with their scratch kitchen makes them a perfect option for a special celebration.
